We make the decision to choose our partner multiple times a day, every day, for forever. While there are many many moments of joy, we wouldn’t be human if there weren’t also many moments of rupture, where we bump into parts of ourselves or our partner which are less healed, less adult, less able to shift.
In addition, we are also having to navigate through lifetimes of environmental stressors, change and growth, seasons of difficulty/pressure or the impact of relationships with other systems, such as family, in-laws, children and friends.
Maintaining a relationship requires work, and that work is infinitely easier if you can already predict where things might be tricky and know the kinds of tools available to you. If you are aware what trips you or your partner up, or know what patterns show up consistently in your relationship in painful or difficult to navigate ways, it can help to approach these experiences with more compassion, grace and kindness for each other. It also helps us to feel less afraid of tackling these ruptures as we have the tools for repair.
In this workshop, we hope you will leave with a better sense of:
- What do my partner and I need in a relationship to feel safe and thrive?
- What does this mean for our relational strengths and vulnerabilities?
- What patterns are likely to show up for us as we navigate change?
- What does this mean for how we need to think about repair options?
- How do we have language to communicate these needs and patterns?
You and your partner will be given material ahead of time to complete- which will be reviewed by our highly qualified facilitators to ensure that exercises are individualised for you. The online workshop will include psycho-education around relationship patterns and attachment styles, with a focus on experiential exercises for you and your partner to complete together based on the information you have given to us.
