Life is so full of demand. Whatever your life might look like, and the specific tasks and obligations you are juggling, this juggle can feel like it takes all of our emotional energy and leave us feeling like we are constantly on the edge of coping. In this context, managing stress becomes essential. There is, of course, an objective layer to this: life IS busy and often difficult, and we are navigating lots of competing needs and wants. However, there are times when our minds become activated in ways that can make everything feel more difficult to manage, contributing to feelings of overwhelm. This is particularly relevant when discussing burnout and the need for effective burnout recovery strategies. In this workshop, through a mix of concept teaching and experiential exercises, we will spend time thinking with you about why it might be feeling particularly hard and what steps we might be able to take to shift the pressure or make different choices. We endeavor to use meaningful prompts to ensure we are finding out the root cause for you individually and to consider where your own set of circumstances and psychology might be helpful or hindering. We hope to ensure that you can leave the day with a greater understanding of what is feeling hard and why, and with options of value-driven actions to create change, particularly in overcoming overwhelm. We will cover: - Understanding your objective stressors - Making sense of overwhelm/a felt sense of inability to cope - What burnout might look like - Threat-based drive action vs soothe-based drive action - How to make decisions around possible change - Action steps to take forward A 4-hour online workshop Saturday 21st March 2026 9am-1pm £150
